The supplied software (Measurement V2 at the time of writing) is very good, it allows you to calibrate (with the supplied card), measure and export the data in Word and Excel formats with measurement overlays. If you do use the software on the accompanied CD, you must run it as Administrator.
There are only two magnifications, 20x and 800x with a rather stiff mechanical focus which is challenging and for the patient. Zoom is performed by moving the camera towards and away from the subject and focusing accordingly, the digital zoom is a waste of time. Once setup and focus is fixed the results are pretty good and the variable light source is brilliant.
Base is metal and heavy enough to keep the microscope steady. Great product for the price.
