SCOTT PILGRIM is the ROCK-N-ROLL ACTION LOVE-STORY for the 8-BIT GENERATION. Scott Pilgrim is a lovable loser and the best fighter in the province.
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game is a side-scrolling beat 'em up game based on the Scott Pilgrim series of Oni Pressgraphic novels by Bryan Lee O'Malley, tying in with the release of the film of the same name. It is published by Ubisoft and developed by Ubisoft Montreal with Ubisoft Chengdu. The game was first announced at Comic Con 2009 in July 2009.[4] It was released exclusively as downloadable content via PlayStation Network on August 10-11, 2010 and through Xbox Live Arcade on August 25, 2010.[5] It was later released in Japan on October 20, 2010.[6][7]
Gameplay[edit]
Loosely following the story of the graphic novels, up to four players can play as Scott Pilgrim, Ramona Flowers, Kim Pine or Stephen Stills (along with the unlockable character NegaScott and the downloadable characters Knives Chau and Wallace Wells), who must battle through seven levels in order to defeat Ramona's seven evil exes. Characters have their own individual movesets, which can be expanded upon by gaining enough experience, and are also able to use weapons. Each player has Heart Points and Guts Points, the latter of which can revive players if they are knocked out, or be used to perform special moves such as summoning Knives Chau or the unlockable assist character Mr. Chau. Defeating enemies earns coins which can be spent in shops to purchase items that can replenish health or boost stats. Certain items can be taken 'to go' to be automatically used when the player runs out of health.[8] Players can also enter Subspace areas which act as bonus areas where extra coins can be earned. During co-operative play, players can revive fallen comrades at the cost of some money, give each other health or money and simultaneously taunt for a combined attack. Various cheat codes unlock extra features, such as a Boss Rush and a Survival Horror mode.[9]
Development[edit]
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game was co-developed by Ubisoft Montreal and Ubisoft Chengdu. The game's art direction and animation was headed by Paul Robertson, whom the company contacted by e-mail.[10][11] Robertson had previous experience working on the 5th Cell series Drawn to Life and created Pirate Baby's Cabana Battle Street Fight 2006, an animated side-scroller game film.[11] Robertson was responsible for designing and animating the game's sprites, effects, and other aspects. He felt he had 'the most creative control' on any game he has worked on, but that he was still restricted by the source material, pleasing the publishers and producers, and programming limitations.[11]Chiptunepunk band Anamanaguchi performed the soundtrack for the game. Bryan Lee O'Malley, Scott Pilgrim series creator, and Edgar Wright, director of the film adaptation, have also been involved in development.[12] O'Malley came to Ubisoft and discussed with the development team how the game's narrative and flow should be handled. He also drew several sketches on which the in-game cutscenes are based.[11] According to O'Malley, he was initially approached by Telltale Games to make a Scott Pilgrimadventure game, but he declined as he could not see it as part of that genre.[13] O'Malley designed the concept moves and specials of the playable characters and bosses. He began this in the northern hemisphere summer of 2009.[14]
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game was first announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2009 on July 28, 2009.[15] On June 8, 2010, Game Informer presented their first hands on, where it was revealed the game would be a timed exclusive for PlayStation Network, with an Xbox Live Arcade release at a later date. The first trailer for the game was released on June 11, 2010, which showed some of the stages in the game such as inside a club, on a street and noticeably inside a Toronto Transit Commission streetcar.[16] The game makes various references to video games, such as River City Ransom, Mario, Kirby, Mega Man, and Guitar Hero. An early pitch video was revealed on August 11, 2010, which showcased even more retro graphics and direct parodies of classic games.[17]
Scott Pilgrim-themed Avatar clothes and props were released on Xbox Live's Avatar Marketplace on August 12, 2010.[18] The game's original soundtrack by Anamanaguchi was released on Amazon and iTunes by ABKCO Records in North America on August 24, 2010, and was released internationally on August 30, 2010.[19][20] Downloadable content was released for the PSN version on November 9, 2010, to coincide with the film's DVD and Blu-ray Disc release, including Knives Chau as a playable character and two additional game modes: Battle Royal and Dodge Ball.[21] The XBLA version was later released on December 28, 2010.[22] A second DLC pack, which implements online multiplayer and adds Wallace Wells as a playable character, was scheduled for release on February 5, 2013,[23] but the pack was delayed and eventually released on March 12, 2013 on PlayStation Network and on March 13, 2013 on Xbox Live Arcade.
On December 30, 2014, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game and its DLC were delisted from the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network, possibly due to the license expiring.[24]

The PlayStation 3 version of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game received 'generally favorable reviews', while the Xbox 360 version received 'average' reviews, according to the review aggregation website Metacritic.[42][43]
IGN praised the game's style and soundtrack but criticizing its lack of online multiplayer or drop-in play.[35][36] They later named it the 25th best game on Xbox Live Arcade in 2010.[44] Similarly, 1UP.com criticized the PS3 version's difficulty and need for grinding.[45]Joystiq said of the same console version that 'they couldn't recommend it any higher, especially at 10 bucks.'[37]Game Informer called the same console version 'the best modern brawler since Castle Crashers.'[28]
GameTrailers called said PS3 version 'an excellent pastiche that will reaffirm your love for classic beat-em-ups.'[33]Kotaku called it 'an entertaining little old-school beat-em up that becomes exponentially more entertaining the more friends you play with.'[46]GameSpot said that the game is a bit too chaotic with four players on screen.[31][32]
Prior to release, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game received nominations for Best Downloadable Game of E3 2010 by both GameSpot[47] and GameTrailers.[citation needed] It was nominated for Best Downloadable Game and won Best Adapted Video Game at the 2010 Spike Video Game Awards.[citation needed]

Tested against benvanik/xenia@ Game works completely fine and seems to be totally playable at full speed, with some minor issues. (Only tested until the first boss.) Issues:
This last issue, however, can be easily fixed by pressing F5 to perform a GPU cache cleanup. Graphics go back to normal right after doing that. |

commented Aug 2, 2015
@Razzile The game is currently rendering (incorrectly) with black borders around the edges of the game screen. |

The audio-silent label should be removed from this game now. Built Xenia today from the latest source (xenia-project/xenia@d52d2c4) to try this game again, and IIRC all audio is working properly. The main case of garbled graphics, the Universal logo popping up while playing, is also fixed. Very slight corruption still occurs in move list and pause menu. |

I built the emulator with flags to play XBLA as full games so I can test this game deeper. I had some random crashes maybe because I had screensaver activated, I tried also once on fullscreen and I could play until I finished second stage, and then xenia showed an error so I could continue. I made a video and I uploaded that to youtube, You can check it at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqABQxGggNM. I also uploaded logs in a rar file to zippyshare in case You want to check them. You can find them at http://www116.zippyshare.com/v/Cvnlmha8/file.html |

The game works fine on the latest build if you use wxPirs to extract files and use default.xex to start up the game. Audio and everything works on OpenGL. Did not test Vulkan. |

Hmm..it starts in OpenGL when opening the XEX, but it crashes immediately for me and i get the: 'The guest has crashed. Xenia has now paused itself. A crash dump has been written into the log' error. Edit: updated to include log file. |

Do anyone know if it possible to get a second (or more) controller going in this game? For me the second controller is recognized, but the game wont let me progress past the 'press start'-screen using it. It just plays a sound when pressing start and then reverts back to 'press start' again. My first controller let's me pass the screen, which then disable inputs from controller # 2. This is tested on a non-trial-mode build. Released New Version: FL Studio 20.0.5.681 updated version available here Main Special Features: • Arranged of some basic features of FL Studio (FruityLoops) • Internal mixing – 32 bits of floating point. Fl studio 12.5 regkey only free download. EDIT: This game runs great on late June 2016 -builds, but it's in very bad shape on later ones. |

Let me preface this by saying that I am VERY new to actually messing around with variables and such. I've been trying to get this game running as the full version and not just the demo. I used that license mask variable added with #1432 (As found here). This did not fix the game as it remained in demo mode. This is the variable I was tweaking. I tried every variable it says in the image. 1, -1, and 0xFFFFFFFF did not unlock the full game and it continued to boot into demo mode after I built Xenia with each one. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the variable itself or Scott Pilgrim itself, or maybe I'm doing it completely wrong. Anyways, I figured it this issue would fit here considering that this variable seems to have been added very recently. |
