Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked with Ruger's two-line warning, the left side of the frame is marked “RUGER ® .357 MAGNUM CAL. / NEW MODEL BLACKHAWK”, the right has the serial number. The stocks have black on silver-colored Ruger logo medallions. The rear face of the cylinders are marked “S”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramp blade, pinned into a rectangular base that is fixed to the barrel. The rear sight is a flat top, square notched leaf in a base that is adjustable for windage and elevation.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are a two piece smooth hardwood set with black on silver Ruger medallions. The grips show only light handling marks. There are no chips or cracks. The grips rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. The finish has a few light scuffs scattered throughout and light handling marks. The cylinderhas a light light turn line. The screw heads are sharp. The pin heads are unmarred. The markings are crisp. Overall, this handgun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder produces very little play in full lockup of all 6 chambers with no measurable back play. The hammer has a strong mainspring and the trigger pull is crisp. The revolver has Ruger's transfer bar safety. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This revolver comes with a brown leather Triple-K drop-loop holster rig marked '38' for size. The rig has a few scattered light scratches with intact stitching, in about Very Good-Fine condition.
Our Assessment: This is a Ruger New Model Blackhawk in .357 Magnum, with a 6-shot cylinder and extremely durable stainless steel construction. The .357 Magnum chambering allows the use of .38 Special as well, which will be quite gentle in this all-steel frame revolver. This revolver looks to have been used infrequently and cared for well. The .357 Magnum cartridge may not be the best caliber for a grizzly, but would do just fine for coyote, wolf, or cougar. This would also make a fine revolver for general target shooting or for Cowboy Action Shooting if you find another to complete your pair. It comes with a nice belt and holster rig which is in Very Good-Fine condition. Please see our photos and good luck!

If you are in Southern California, you are welcome to pick your item up and complete the transfer at our shop in Simi Valley (M-F, 8-4 and Saturday By Appointment).
This gun can only be shipped to an FFL, and it will be shipped from an FFL. It is your responsibility to ensure that the gun is legal to own and receive in your area. Please include a copy of your dealer’s license with payment or faxed/emailed separately. We will need CFLC numbers for CA FFL’s to ship a firearm within California. We are FFL dealers and comply with all Federal, State and Local laws.
We always combine on shipping to save you as much as we can. You can generally assume it will be full shipping charge on the first item, 1/2 on the second, 1/3 on the third, etc. Exceptions only arise when the items are going to different locations (different licenses), or when they are exceptionally large, heavy or valuable and cannot be combined.
